She and her husband enjoy serving their community and in the Dominican Republic for missions work on a yearly basis with her family.
Mary, what is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
“I played Division III basketball while attending Grove City College. Basketball has always been a large part of my family, you can always find us either playing, coaching, or watching a basketball game. I also enjoy acting and watching musical performances. People often were surprised by the roles I played, such as The Wicked Witch of the West in ‘The Wizard of Oz’, as well as Miss Hannigan from ‘Annie’ during my high school career.”
Mary, what has been your favorite experience overseas?
“I have traveled to the Dominican Republic more times than I can count, as well as Haiti and Peru for medical missions. I have developed friendships in these places that make them feel like a second home. One of my favorite experiences has been living in Peru for 5 weeks during graduate school, where I had the opportunity to experience the culture and live life with the people there while providing medical care. That trip gave me a new perspective on healthcare, as well as the many blessings that each day brings. There is always something to be thankful for.”
